Language Instructors’ Certificate in Regina

The Centre for Continuing Education at the University of Regina in Saskatchewan, Canada and the First Nations University of Canada offer an educational program that results in a First Nations Language Instructors’ Certificate.

The program is designed for people with fluency and at least some literacy in a First Nations language. (A test is required.)

The certificate program is 30 credits, the classes including:

  • Indian Language Arts: Oral and Written Communications
  • Bilingual/Bicultural Language Learning Processes
  • Community Based Curriculum Development for First Nations (K-12) Languages
  • Indian Language Immersion
  • Survey of American Indian Languages
