Saving Languages: An Introduction to Language Revitalization

Published in 2005, Saving Languages is a reference guide to “provide the essential tools for a successful language revitalization program” and is written not only for linguists and anthropologists but for community members as well.

The authors are:

Lenore A. Grenoble – associate dean at Dartmouth

Lindsay J. Whaley – associate dean for interdisciplinary studies at Dartmouth

The two have also co-authored a number of articles on endangered languages.
